Lost your Jeep, Dodge or Ram key? We bring the new one to you.

A Wrangler at the boat ramp, a Ram on the job, a Grand Caravan in the school lot: when the key or fob is lost, broken or dead, Zoom Locksmith drives to the vehicle and makes the replacement there. We cut the blade, program the key, plug-in fob or smart key, and test it with you. Call with the VIN or the year and model for a free quote before the van rolls.

One family of keys

Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Chrysler —
one family, three kinds of key.

Jeep, Dodge, Ram and Chrysler come from the same family of brands, and their keys follow the same three patterns. Many vehicles that start with a key you turn use a chip key, often with the buttons built into the head. Many others use a plug-in fob, often called a Fobik: the whole fob slides into a slot in the dash and turns like a key, with an emergency blade hidden inside. And many newer Wranglers, Grand Cherokees, Gladiators, Rams and Durangos use a push-to-start smart key.

Not sure which one you have? If the fob goes into the dash, it’s a plug-in fob. If it never leaves your pocket and you press a button to start, it’s a smart key. The VIN settles it either way.

Many newer Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler and Ram vehicles add a security layer that blocks key programming without the right access. We have the equipment to work with it, so most newer models are still a one-visit job. If your exact vehicle turns out to be dealer-only, the dispatcher tells you before anyone drives out.

  • Jeep, Dodge, Ram & Chrysler keys
  • Plug-in fobs (Fobik)
  • Push-to-start smart keys
  • Chip & remote-head keys
  • All keys lost — a new key made at the vehicle
  • Spares for weekend Jeeps & work Rams

How it works

From lost fob
to back on the road.

  1. 01

    Tell us the vehicle

Call with the year and model, the VIN if you have it, and whether the fob plugs into the dash or stays in your pocket. The dispatcher quotes it free and confirms your year can be done on-site.

  2. 02

    We come to it

Beach lot, boat ramp, trailhead, job site or driveway — the tech drives to the vehicle. We ask for your ID and the registration before making any key.

  3. 03

    Cut & program

The blade is cut, and the key, plug-in fob or smart key is programmed to the vehicle where it sits.

  4. 04

    Tested with you

We test the start, the doors and the remote buttons with you before we leave. Want a spare for the weekend Jeep? This is the easiest time to add one.

Before we arrive

What to have ready

For any Jeep, Dodge, Ram or Chrysler:

  • A photo ID with a name that matches the registration or title.
  • The registration or title for the vehicle.
  • The VIN. It’s on the registration and the insurance card, on the dash at the base of the windshield on the driver’s side, and on the driver’s door-jamb sticker.
  • Whether the fob plugs into the dash or the vehicle starts with a push button.
  • Every key and fob you still have, working or not.
  • If the vehicle is at a beach lot, a boat ramp or a trailhead, the lot name or the nearest cross street.

Pricing

What affects the price

Every Jeep, Dodge, Ram and Chrysler key is quoted on its own. What moves the number:

  • The kind of key: a chip or remote-head key, a plug-in fob, or a push-to-start smart key.
  • Whether a working key still exists — a spare is simpler than a key from scratch.
  • The year and model, and whether it needs the extra security step before programming.
  • How many keys you want — a spare on the same visit saves a second trip.

Call with the VIN or the year and model and you get a free quote up front. The quote is what you pay — no trip fee and no surprise charges at the curb.

Mobile across Tampa Bay

Beach, ramp or trail —
we drive to the Jeep.

Jeeps spend weekends where keys get lost: the sand, the boat ramp, the end of a dirt road. Rams and work vans lose keys on job sites. Because we’re mobile, where the key went missing is where the new one gets made, from St. Pete to Brandon. Lost every key? See lost car key replacement.

Keys locked inside instead of lost? That’s a lockout — our emergency locksmith line opens vehicles without damage, Monday through Saturday, 8am to 8pm.

FAQ

Quick answers about
jeep, dodge & ram key replacement in Tampa.

Yes, for most model years. We come to the Wrangler, cut the blade and program the new key or smart key where it’s parked. Call with the VIN and the dispatcher checks your year first.

It’s the common name for the plug-in fob many Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler and Ram vehicles use: the fob goes into a slot in the dash and turns like a key, with an emergency blade inside for the door. We replace and program them on-site.

Yes. Ram, Dodge and Chrysler share key types with Jeep — Ram pickups, Chargers, Durangos, Grand Caravans and Pacificas are all handled the same way. Call with the year, model and VIN.

Usually not — we make the key where the Jeep is parked. Newer models add a security layer before programming, and we have the equipment for it. If yours is a dealer-only exception, we say so up front.

We’re open Monday through Saturday, 8am to 8pm, and closed Sundays — no overnight crews. Leave the vehicle safely parked and call when we open at 8am the next open day. If a child or a pet is locked in a vehicle, call 911 right away.
