Toyota or Lexus key lost? We program the new one at the car.

A Tacoma at the job site, a RAV4 in the apartment lot, a Lexus RX in the driveway: when the key is lost, worn out or the smart key just stopped working, Zoom Locksmith drives to the car and makes the replacement there. We cut the blade, program the key or smart key, and test it with you. Call with the VIN or the year and model for a free quote before the van rolls.

Toyota family keys

A Toyota stays on the road for years —
so does every kind of key.

Toyotas and Lexus models last a long time, so we see every generation of their keys. Older models use a key with a chip in the head, often with a separate remote. Later key-start models put the lock and unlock buttons into the key head. And many newer Camrys, Corollas, RAV4s, Highlanders and nearly every recent Lexus use a push-to-start smart key with a mechanical blade hidden inside.

Lexus is Toyota’s luxury brand and shares a lot of its key technology. Many Lexus models with a key you turn use a laser-cut blade, and some newer Lexus models were offered with a thin card-style key. The van carries a cutter for laser-cut blades, and we can cut a key from the key code when there’s no original to copy.

Smart key dead and the car won’t open? Slide the release on the fob, pull out the mechanical key inside, and it opens the driver’s door. If a fresh battery doesn’t bring the fob back, we replace and program a new one.

  • Toyota & Lexus smart keys (push-to-start)
  • Chip keys & remote-head keys
  • Laser-cut blades, cut from the key or the code
  • Worn keys on high-mileage Toyotas
  • All keys lost — a new key made at the car
  • Tacoma & Tundra keys at the job site

How it works

From lost smart key
to a car that starts.

  1. 01

    Call with the car’s details

Tell the dispatcher the year and model, the VIN if you have it, and whether it’s push-to-start. That’s enough for a free quote before anyone drives anywhere.

  2. 02

    We come to the car

Driveway, condo garage, office lot or job site — the tech drives to it. We ask for your ID and the registration before any key is made.

  3. 03

    Cut & program

The blade is cut — traditional or laser-cut — and the key or smart key is programmed to the car where it’s parked.

  4. 04

    Tested with you

We test the doors, the start and the remote buttons with you. Down to one key? This is the easiest time to add a spare.

Before we arrive

What to have ready

For any Toyota or Lexus:

  • A photo ID with a name that matches the registration or title.
  • The registration or title for the car.
  • The VIN. It’s on the registration and the insurance card, on the dash at the base of the windshield on the driver’s side, and on the driver’s door-jamb sticker.
  • Whether it’s push-to-start, and whether your old key is worn or sticking.
  • Every key and smart key you still have. On some cars, programming a new key clears any key that isn’t there.

Pricing

What affects the price

Every Toyota and Lexus key is quoted on its own. What moves the number:

  • The kind of key: a chip key, a remote-head key, a smart key or a card key.
  • The blade: a traditional cut or a laser-cut key.
  • Whether a working key still exists — a spare is simpler than a key from scratch.
  • The year and model, and whether the key for it has to be ordered first.
  • How many keys you want — a spare on the same visit saves a second trip.

Call with the VIN or the year and model and the dispatcher quotes the job up front, free. The quote is what you pay — no trip fee and no surprise charges at the curb.

Mobile across Tampa Bay

The car stays put —
we come to it.

A push-to-start car with no smart key can’t be moved, so we come to it: a Lexus in a Davis Islands driveway, a Camry in a downtown garage, a Tacoma at a site in Riverview. Lost every key? See lost car key replacement. Just the fob? See key fob & push-to-start replacement.

Old Toyota key sticking or snapped in the ignition? That’s an ignition repair job, handled on the same kind of visit, Monday through Saturday, 8am to 8pm.

FAQ

Quick answers about
toyota & lexus key replacement in Tampa.

Yes, for most models. We come to the car, program a new smart key to it and cut the mechanical blade inside to your door, with no tow. If you have a second smart key somewhere, find it first — on some cars, programming a new key clears any key that isn’t there.

Copying a worn key copies the wear. Tell the dispatcher it’s worn, and we cut the new key from the key code so it fits the locks the way the original did.

Yes. The van carries a cutter for laser-cut blades, and we can cut from your key or from the key code, then program the chip to the car.

For most models, no — we make the key where the car is parked. Rare or very new models may need the key ordered first, and if your car is a dealer-only job, the dispatcher tells you before anyone drives out.

We’re open Monday through Saturday, 8am to 8pm, and closed Sundays — no overnight crews. Leave the car safely parked and call when we open at 8am the next open day. If a child or a pet is locked in a vehicle, call 911 right away.
